Kenneth Carpenter ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Volcanic Lakes mobile application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

Information we collect

Volcanic Lakes does not collect, transmit, or sell personal data. The app has no user accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no third-party tracking.

The following data is stored locally on your device only using iOS UserDefaults:

  • Onboarding completion status
  • Your selected topic interests
  • Favourite lakes (bookmarks)
  • Explored lakes progress
  • Quiz best score and completed lab activities

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Third-party services

The Map section uses Apple MapKit to display geographic locations. Map tile requests are handled by Apple according to their privacy policy. We do not receive or store your location — the app does not request location permissions.

Children's privacy

Volcanic Lakes is suitable for all ages and is designed as an educational resource. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data security

Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no remote data storage to secure. Local preferences are protected by standard iOS app sandboxing.
